Griego Mouthpieces Questions
I currently play on a SM3U and have been thinking (for some time now) that this piece is probably not right for me. Christian Griego was on campus this past Tuesday and brought a bunch of his pieces. I matched my SM3U with his Griego-Alessi 3B & 3D. They seemed to be way more comfortable for me to play on and cleared up a lot of things in my sound/playing. I used to play on a Greg Black, so I have been really interested in these with the smoothness of the rim.
Does anyone else have any experience with these pieces on their horn?
Thanks!

Griego Mouthpieces
I have a Griego (can't recall the number right now) and I think it's a nice mp. However, it is not quite what I'm looking for, so it's sitting in a case right now. But I think they are worth trying.

What about that piece didn't work for you Dave?

I suppose I didn't choose to play the Griego for the same reason I didn't choose to play the SM series. It is tough to find a mp as open and singing as the standard Wick series. Not unlike when I'm choosing a horn, if I can't get the sound I want out of the equipment, then I rule it out.
Having said that, I probably did not play the Griego long enough to get really familiar with other qualities associated with it, like endurance, articulation, intonation, etc. So I can't speak to many specifics about the Griego.

Interesting! If you find yours at some point, I might be interested in buying it from you (if willing to sell).
