assuming they last a good while, they might be worth it...but then again I dont even know the prices of springs very well. How much are the 641/642 coated springs?

dont the 321's and 642's use different springs? i once tried putting 321 springs from a school euph into a compensating Besson new standard and they were far too weak

Darn... wish I'd known about the US connection. Ah well, it's only money!

According to your profile, you live in Italy so ordering from the UK was possibly your best choice, but not sure.

Whoops... thanks for the reminder! Moved back to the US, but forgot to update my profile. Changes made!

I bought Bill's Shilke 51 via eBay and it arrived today. It's a great mp and made a night and day difference in the horn... opened it right up. It's a big honkin' mouthpiece, but delivers a lot of air and a remarkable presence (for me at least).

Dennis Wick SM4M arrived this week (via eBay) for another data point on the euro bore euph mouthpiece comparison. It also delivers a great sound on my New Standard, but it feels easier to play for me and my stamina is MUCH greater on the Dennis Wick. Looks like that'll be my main mouthpiece. As an additional note, the spring noise I noted when unpacking and playing the New Standard for the first time has gone away with repeated use. I guess things just needed to settle into place. Oh well, I'll still change out the springs when they arrive!
