    Removing Willson Valve Caps

    Hello everyone,

I have cleaned my school owned Willson 2900 before by bathing it, but I have not been able to bathe the valves as the felts under the valve caps have prevented it. Does anyone know how to remove the valve caps on a Willson 2900? Thank you all for your time.

It sounds like you want to remove the valve stem from the valve... which would allow you to remove the felts, washer and/or cork (if there is one). The finger button should screw off (CCW), as should the valve stem itself. It may be more than finger tight. DO NOT use a pair of standard pliers or needled nose, but get a pair of 'soft grip' pliers.

Ah. Thank you. I had not thought that they might be on to tight for fingers to unscrew. I will have to try using soft grip pliers the next time I clean it.
