Below is a link to this weekend's Tuba/Euphonium conference... or as it's now called a 'Workshop'. The link is for the schedule of events with links to view video or listen to audio of that event.

2012 US Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Workshop
Thanks for posting this. I watched the The Cosmopolitan Quartet and the last concert via livestream. Great playing to no real surprise and the video quality was fine. The only real small thing I noticed was during the final concert, the euph. soloists sounded a bit on the 'chirpy' side of things (mainly in the mid register) from the mike on the right side. I know it can be tough to mike an euph. Did anybody else notice that was it just my comp. speakers?

2012 US Army Band Tuba-Euphonium Workshop
I thought it sounded okay given that it's a web broadcast. Some tones seemed more bright than I'm sure they were in real life.
Anyone who attended this marvelous 'workshop' care to share in their experiences?
I watched some of it Friday night, and most all of it on Saturday via the webcast. The euphonium choir directed by Dr. Brian Bowman was among my favorites. They sounded terrific and played some nice arrangements. Having played "Raymond Overture" several times before it was good to hear this arr. where they had to play all the fast moving clarinet parts. Couldn't tell who played the solo, but maybe it was Neal Corwell? The detail of video wasn't great so all I could tell was he was wearing an Army uniform. I did see Lauren Veroni (only female - video wasn't that bad) and her 'cute wave' to the crowd. Wagner's "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral" was excellent and a good one to end on. I thought the tribute by Dr. Bowman to Phil Franke in passing 30 years with the Marine Band and retiring soon was really nice.
The Cosmopolitan Quartet was great! I really enjoyed their playing. Nice arrangements. A lot of the joking was off-mic so not sure what all was said. Looks like they like picking on Adam Frey a bit.
The final concert was great! Sure glad they didn't have bad weather again this year. Phil Franke did a great job with Curnow's "Fantasia di Falcone". I couldn't tell from the video whether he used his Besson or Willson. Maybe someone will know. Roland Szentpali brought the house down with his arr. of Carmen Fantasy (Bizet). Awesome playing!
I've really got to attend some year. This looks like a great opportunity to hear some of the best low-brass musicians all in one place.
