Triangle Wind Ensemble Concert Season Opens November 5 with "A River Runs Through It"

The 45-member Triangle Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Evan Feldman, will open its 2011-12 concert season on Saturday, November 5 at 7:30 pm in the Cary Arts Center, located at 101 Dry Avenue in Cary NC.

The concert is built around the theme of water and the musical selections portray its many moods and forms. The centerpiece of the program is an arrangement by J. Cacavas of Czech composer Bedrich Smetana's famous "The Moldau," an homage to the river that runs through Prague. Other works on the program include the tone poem "City Rain" by Judith Lang Zaimont, "Firefly" by Ryan George, "Blue Lake" by John Barnes Chance, and the nostalgic and lively "Spoon River" by Percy Grainger.
