According to John Cradler, "someone is retiring". He didn't name names, but it could be Tom Holtz or John himself.

I read on TubeNet that they broke the record for auditioning at over 125! Landres Bryant won the job. I had the honor of sitting next to Landres about 8 or 9 years ago in The Palm Beach Gardens Band. It was my third year back to playing euph and I was sitting 3rd in the euph section so next to Landres on tuba. Landres was either a freshman or sophomore at 'Dreyfoos School of the Arts' in West Palm Beach, FL at the time. I could tell Landres should go places with his tuba playing as he had a great tone with a 6 or 7 octave range even back in HS. The comm. band awarded him a summer scholarship to Interlochen one year. A web-search tells me that Landres got his BM at U. Michigan and his Master's at Yale.

      Congratulations to Landres Bryant!!
