I was at the U of M jazz festival this past weekend and during the hour long clinic that was held in the morning, Michael Nelson pulled out his double bell euphonium and started playing it. He then proceeded to play on it just as much as his trombone for the rest of the clinic. I loved the sound he got while improvising on it and I can't figure out why this isn't more accepted in the jazz world. It was an awesome experience. I just wish I could've had my video camera with me so I could post it here.
