I'm working towards getting a pro-line new compensating horn like: the Miraphone 5050, Yam 642, 842, Sterling, and similar horns.
I recently inquired about a new Meinl Weston 551 and was told the longer valves would not have the same light action as my Yam 321 because it needed to be "broken in".
Is this a true statement?
What are typical things that happen during a "breaking in" period for comp horns (all things being subjective)?
Thanks,
Dan
