Thread: Anyone Using Internet Explorer?

    Anyone Using Internet Explorer?

I just noticed that Internet Explorer (I use version 7 on a PC) is doing odd things on the forum. The main content area often wraps to the bottom of the screen. Has anyone else experienced that?

    Dave,

This has been happening for quite a while. It goes away if you click on "hide" the left side vavigation bar.

I was afraid of that! I have opened a support ticket with the forum software company. We'll see if they can help.

I use IE-6 and have seen that for quite awhile. Like Doug said, as long as you close the private message center, it looks normal. It doesn't matter what size font you're using for IE either - still happens.

Mozilla's browser, Firefox has been exceptionally stable for me. No site issues either. Our office switched to it and I have been using it at home for a couple years. Wouldn't think of switching back to IE. It might be worth looking into.

For me as well. The (automatic ?) layout seems off. Lots of space is allocated to the topic title, yet the whole page doesn't fit horizontally.

    Dave,
This sounds like what I was telling you about a couple weeks ago or so.

Dave, I see that you're online now!

    Again, here's what I'm getting:

In order to see any posts in this topic, I have to scroll way down.
Had I not tried to scroll down, I would have seen only the bar on the left and gray background on the right.
Hiding the left bar does indeed bring the posts up to the top.

It's as if the bar does not allow anything to wrap next to it.

    Snorlax/Jim,

Thanks for the update. You are experiencing what I did on IE, although it did not always work that way. I bugged the forum software's tech support again yesterday but still don't have a solution. Last week they have me a few things to try in the style sheets that control the layout, but none helped. I'll keep after them.

In the meantime, if you notice from the posts above, you can click the "Hide" link near the top of the page and get rid of the left navigation temporarily. They you can go from page to page and see the content easily. There is a little arrowhead graphic near the top when the navigation is hidden - just click that to restore the left side.

    Dave,

What browser version are you using? As far as I know the problem has been fixed with Internet Explorer and did not exist with other browser.

    And welcome to the forum!
