    What Is It?

Here it is finally! Here's the step that was unclear: Once the file finishes uploading, "click on the filename in the list to highlight it". Dave thanks for all your help.

      What Is It?

      Next Chore:

How does one link a website within a message? There seems to be nothing about it under "faq", or any other place that I looked for help? I would like to know how to insert "clickable" web references without the help of an administrator.

      Thanks.

        What Is It?

        Hi Griz,

That's pretty easy. Once you have the hyper link or URL copied to your computer's clipboard, just click the 'http' icon (to the right of the picture frame). A new window opens. Right-click in the blank space and 'paste' the link. Click 'Ok', then you'll see another blank and you can title it with what ever you wish.

Here's a YouTube link that's interesting for trombone players that don't want to use a slide:

        Look Mom, no slide!
        Rick Floyd
Miraphone 5050 - Warburton BJ / RF mpc

"Always play with a good tone, never louder than lovely, never softer than supported." - author unknown.
Symphonic Band of the Palm Beaches

El Cumbanchero (Raphael Hernandez, arr. Naohiro Iwai)
The Cowboys (John Williams, arr. James Curnow)
        Festive Overture (Dmitri Shostakovich)

It may be different depending on the browser you use. In mine, here is what I do:

          1) Type the text you want to appear as linked. In Rick's message that would be "Look Mom, no slide!"

          2) Hightlight that text

          3) Click the chain icon.

          4) Paste the link address into the Link URL line

          5) On the 4th line, where it says "Target", select "Open in new window" so that the user can just close that window once they have looked at the page you linked and return easily to the forum again.

          That should do it!

            What Is It?

            Rick,

I think I found my computer's clipboard (I have an iMac).

When I highlighted the URL, it appeared on the clipboard automatically.

No new window opened, so I couldn't paste anything; There were no blank spaces... when I tried to type in the clipboard window, I was not allowed to.

            I don't think I can Right-click on a Mac.

There is no "OK" toggle to click.

There was no other blank in which to type a title.

            Dave,

Where should I type the text I want to appear linked?

            Where is the "chain icon"?

Where is the "Link URL line"?

I did not find a "Target".

Thanks guys but apparently I need "Pasting Links For Dummies".

Check the FAQ again. I added one for doing a hyperlink (including pictures!)

Thanks for all the help Dave. (The pictures made a difference)

I now have placed a link that actually works... "Listen To Doug Yeo" on a previous post.
