Musicians invited to join Community Orchestra and Chorus

Dakota County, MN, July 12, 2008. The Dakota Valley Symphony invites interested musicians to join the orchestra or chorus for the 2008-09 season. The symphony will perform five concerts from October through April in Lakeville and Burnsville. Rehearsals are weekly, on Tuesday or Thursday evenings in Burnsville.

Of special interest to singers are performances of Handel's Messiah, and Mozart's Regina Coeli. Solo opportunities in both works are available. Singers who are interested in performing a solo piece should identify themselves in their inquiry for more information. Singers of all ranges are welcome, and the chorus especially seeks tenors, basses and altos.

Of special interested to instrumentalists are Schubert's Unfinished Symphony and Beethoven's Violin Concerto. String instrumentalists are especially sought, and all instruments are welcome to join the substitute list, which is consulted throughout the season as needed.

The Dakota Valley Symphony is entering its 23rd season under the direction of founding conductor, Stephen J. Ramsey. A non-profit, community volunteer organization, the DVS serves the south-of-the river community. More information can be found at www.dakotavalleysymphony.org.
