    Stolen Euphonium DFW area (RECOVERED!)

My friend Brian's euphonium has been stolen.

    Here's his info:

(Brian is the principal euphonium in the Dallas Wind Symphony)

    Hey Guys,

I had my euphonium stolen last night when my car was broken into. There is a very small chance I'll see it again....but there's always hope. I'm sending out the horn info to all who see brass instruments.

    Horn:

    Hirsbrunner circa 1995
    silver plate with brass leadpipe
    medium (euro) shank receiver
Small deer stamped on the bell
    serial #: 094170

If you guys would be so kind as to forward this along to everyone of like minds it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Brian Davis

Heartbreaking news. I will keep my eyes and ears peeled for it.

If it's any consolation, I got my PT6 C tuba back, after it was stolen. But that night without it, before it was found, was awful.

    Hello Everyone,

I would like to give an update on Brian's horn. It's been recovered in the Houston area from someone trying to sell it on Craig's list. Brian called me yesterday and mentioned that the person who notified him and the police found the reference to the Hirsbrunner euphonium from this site. Thanks to everyone who kept their eyes peeled for this instrument and many thanks to David Werden who created this new category.

    Sincerely,

Craig's List is a cool function, but beware, because a LOT of stolen goods get moved that way. If you ever go to buy something from CL, be sure to check on any serial numbers, especially if they have been smoothed over, or ownter applied numbers washed off.

I have made several arrests recently from good sams who bought, or went to buy, stuff that was stolen, and turned it in to the police. I am really glad this horn got back to its rightful owner. Let's hear it for honest folks!!
