Thread: Any info on Courtois euphoniums?

According to the experience I had, I find 167R better than 167II R. I had a chance to try a 167IIR but I found it very bad as intonation and also the tone and the answer were not beautiful. Probably a specimen out badly !! The only thing in its favor is ergonomics. It is held better than its predecessor is also lighter !!

    That's good to hear.

The intonation on my Euph is spot on. Certainly better than the Besson I also play.

It is quite heavy but I see that as a good thing as it's obviously stronger too resist dents.

The 167 bell is made with a thicker slab and the shape is very similar to Besson. Which of the 167II is thinner and has a shape similar to Willson. Both bells have a diameter of about 304 mm.

I don't know if bell size was an option but mine is 314mm.

  5. Any have tryed the Courtois 267? I have read many times that those where same as the Melton 551.
    Some stuff
