Thread: Locating serial no. on Sterling euphonium?

  1. Locating serial no. on Sterling euphonium?

I purchased a Sterling euphonium from Custom about 2 years ago which was used as a demo horn. I believe this is a "symphony" model and has the "Perantucci" name engraved below the Sterling name.

I'm trying to update my instrument insurance policies and am attempting to locate the serial number. I've looked on the valve casings (all four) and a few other places with no luck. Am I looking in the wrong place? I should point out that my vision is not the sharpest but I have used a magnifying lens to help me.

If anyone knows where I should look, please let me know.

    Thanks

    Alex F.

Locating serial no. on Sterling euphonium?

I don't have a Sterling, but on my horn, the S/N is located on the back of the second valve under the compensating loop for the third valve.

    Hope this helps.

Why don't you call or email Custom ?

  4. Locating serial no. on Sterling euphonium?

My repeated experience with Custom is that they either don't return messages or take forever to do so. The same goes with e-mail. This based on several years of experience. I thought I'd get a faster answer here.

On my horn, the SN is on the bottom of the bell section, viewable on the inner side. If you took out the tuning slide you might have a clearer view.
