Hello, I'm new to the forum and also looking for a new (or possibly used but new for me) euphonium. My current instrument is a Yamaha YEP-321, not in the best of shape. I'm looking for an acceptable compensating horn, nothing in the range of Willsons or Prestiges (I unfortunately don't have that much money), but something certainly better than a studenty Yamaha.
Overall I prefer larger bore instruments with deep sounds but I'd like my instrument to perform well in the higher registers as well.
Has anyone bought or tried a Helios brand instrument? I live quite far from any authorised dealer of them so I cant just go and try one on a whim... Any other suggestions as far as looking for euphoniums?
