Canton Symphony - Audition for Principal Tuba

(approx. 90 services per season)
along with possible unconducted
Ensemble services (String Quartet, etc.)


Auditions will be held Thursday, September 13, 2007 from 9:00am - 12:00pm in Cable Recital Hall, located in the Cultural Center for the Arts, 1001 Market Ave. North, Canton, OH 44702. Preliminary auditions will be held 9:00 - 11:00am, with the final round beginning immediately after.

Per service rate for the Principal Tuba position is $112.56 for the 2007-2008 season. Per service rate for Ensemble services is $90.05. Some services require daytime availability.

Repertoire for the audition includes a solo work for the Tuba plus following excerpts:
Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique (1st tuba)
Berlioz The Damnation of Faust: Hungarian March
Prokofiev Symphony No. 5
Moussorsky/Ravel Pictures at an Exhibition (Bydlo - solo)

Please bring your own music to the auditions - no excerpts will be available at the auditions.
