NWI Youth Orchestra auditions set in August
The Northwest Indiana Symphony Youth Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Philip Bauman, announces fall auditions for the 2007-08 season for strings, bassoon, horn, trombone, tuba and percussion.
Auditions are from 2 to 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Munster Center for Visual and Performing Arts. Complete information regarding audition requirements, application forms, required music selections, and audition scheduling can be found by following the Youth Orchestra link at www.NISOrchestra.org.
The Youth Orchestra presents two concerts each year, one in December and one in May, which features the annual concerto competition winner.
The orchestra also will perform one concert side-by-side with the Northwest Indiana Symphony in October at the Halloween Pops concert.
The season begins with a day camp scheduled for Aug. 25 and 26. Regular rehearsals begin Sept. 9
