    Amarillo Symphony - Principal Tuba

    As the only professional orchestra in the Panhandle area, the Symphony employs 85 skilled musicians to perform for more than 2,300 subscribers each year.
    AUDITIONS

    The Amarillo Symphony announces the following open position:

    Principal Tuba

    Interested candidates should contact Susan Buelow, Director of Artists and Education to schedule an audition. All auditions will be held in Amarillo on August 17 & 18, 2007.

    Repertoire:
    1. Two to four minutes of a concerto or other solo work of your choice.
    2. Orchestral excerpts:
    Wagner Meistersinger Prelude
    Beginning to letter J and letter L
    Shostakovich Symphony No. 5, 2nd mvmt.
    Rehearsal 70 to end of mvmt.
    Wagner Die Walkure, Act 3
    Beginning to change of key to two sharps
    Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique,
    4th mvmt., measure 60 to 108
    2nd mvmt., measure 399 to end
    Berlioz Rakoczy March
    5th mvmt., measure 477 to end

    Hello, just wanted to let you know I looked into the The Amarillo Symphony position and it is a per-service orchestra. The 2007-08 per-service principal rate is $65.45. There are approximately 50 services during the 2007-08 season for the principal tuba chair.
