    Hello!

Yesterday I visited the International Music Fair in Frankfurt, Germany.

I had the chance to play the Inderbinen Euph. (appr. 8000Euro)
Thomas Ruedi for instance is playing this now.
The Euph is described as "sitting in the sound" when playing it...some mystic.
However it was nice but I found an other one.

    The Adams from Netherlands.
A prototyp not yet to buy.
I liked the sound very much. (appr. 6000Euro)

    www.inderbinen.com
    www.adams.nl

    Did anybody hear about these?

    Best regards

I visited the messe too and this is how i feel about the euphoniums I tried:

Besson Prestige 2052 (large bell model):
Besson claimed that there were a lot of changes with the model which was still made in england, but I couldn't notice any significant changes. I feel that my, english made, prestige is a better euphonium.

    Willson 2950 TA:
Nice euphonium very good in intonation but a lot of core in the tone. Not quite the singing sound i'm afer (since i'm a brass band player). Same story with the hirshbrunner euphoniums.

    York Eminence:
This is the euphonium David Childs and the Black Dyke band now play on. Beautifull brittish sounding euphonium, but really heavy (even heaver than my current Prestige). Nice new trigger system which makes sure that the triger action is always straight down which makes a smouther trigger action. Nice compatitor for the Prestige (for me personally)

    Inderbinen:
All i can say that it is something else..... but just not "my" euphonium.

    Adams costum Euphonium:
Adams is my supplier and repairman since i live in holland and they are closeby. I knew that they were making flugelhorns now and that the flugels where one of the best out there. There euphonium was completely new to me and luckly they had there raw brass prototype at the messe. First thing that surprised me was the low weight of the instrument (which a lot of times means that the instrument can't handle a lot of air). Playing the euphonium was a dream, easy response, good intonation and no breaking up at large volumes of air. Unfortunately i only had my mouthpiece at the messe (DW 3AL) and not my own Prestige. So this friday i will compare the adams to my prestige and have a better idea of the euphonium. Adams is still changing some bits and pieces about the instrument and I'll try to keep you all updated about the euphonium. I'll also try to tell you my experiences with the euphonium next friday.

    Regards,
    Tim

    Hello Tim!

I am interested in your test results!

For ME the Adams was the best Euph I ever played (beside my Willson 2910).

    Best regards

On March, 15th I was on the music fair in Frankfurt/ Germany again.

No changes from Inderbinen (12.900 Dollar???)

    Adams showed it new euphoniums

    Different thicknesses, different materials.

Interesting to know, if somebody else is having some experience with that.

    Hello!
Yesterday I tried the new Adams Euphonium and these are the results of my test:

    - sound: Good sound, but not centred, some notes were sounding more and with better quality that different, there was great difference.

    - valves: very good, rapid and with little crossed, excellent.

-Trigger: it was not working well, my friend said that he had to return to the factory because it was seeming to be a fault of factory.

It is an instrument with a great shank for the small thing that is, though it is easy to play, an overcoat in the high register. I believe that 6000 € for this Euphonium it is too much money, there are others, in my opinion, which for this price they are better.

I wait to have been served help!

I tried the Adams instruments this week,it is stunning what an improvement they made in a year.I think, and with me growing amount of other prof. players, that it is the only instrumentbrand with true inovation and therefore possible a leading brand of the nearbye future.

You don't need a trigger realy, you feel so free on this horn.
There are some great players working to improve the instrument.
I think the prof. euph. players can't ignore this one.
A few top players are searching and sometimes stick to a certain instrument for the money.Just try it when you have the chance, they will speed up production soon.
This custom instrument will also get more expensive when they have it they want it to be.....

I could only find one webpage with info here.

There's a link on that page for a pdf file. I opened it (has some English text) and see they've added an adjustable gap receiver on the leadpipe.

Using the new Adams receiver, you can easily adjust the 'colour'
and timbre of the instrument. The gap between the mouthpiece
    and leadpipe is adjustable.
I've heard that some tubas have this. Interesting.
