    Norah Jones and Taj Mahal

Tthe latest Norah Jones recording uses a tuba on one of the tracks, "In My Country." It isn't a great part but at least some guy got a paying gig!!
Also, Howard Johnson's group was used on a live recording with Taj Mahal.
It has been rereleased on CD and is a lot of fun for listening

I had forgotten about this song, until I saw ScottM's posting.

A kind of pop band I played in many years back used to do a version of a song by Taj Mahal, Cakewalk into Town. I think the tubist on the original was Howard Johnson. If I still have the record, Ill confirm that fact in a later posting.

I can still recall my shock when the lead vocalist gave me a tape with this track on, and said something along the lines of ' learn that solo by tomorrow'! Luckily it turned out to be fairly easy, and great fun to play, with a good funky feel.
