Etudes with Style- Music for the Tuba by Harry Salotti, is a collection of twenty five etudes rangeing in styles from Bach, Swing, and Tangos to Heavy Metal, Dixieland and Movie soundtracks like Star Wars and Westerns. Harvey Phillips wrote the preface where he includes great suggestions on how to perform stylized music. A CD is included with playalong background tracks for evey etude. Pat Sheridan plays the melodies on alternate tracks for evey etude. A Discography is included that suggests famous recordings by tuba and euphonium players in all twenty five styles.
This collection won the ITEA 2003 tuba etude contest.
