Keene State College's Music Department is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position of Instrumental Music Education/Concert Band Director to begin August 2007.

Primary responsibilities will be to conduct the concert band and teach instrumental music and conducting. Other responsibilities will include applied instruction in brass, teaching courses in brass methods, and supervi-sion of student teachers. Additionally, ability to teach music theory/aural skills, music history, or other subjects appropriate to the candidate's background and training is desirable. Actively recruit for the department, partici-pate in departmental activities and campus-wide committees, and maintain professional contacts with public school instrumental music educators and bands.

Qualifications: Doctorate required, (ABD near completion will be considered) graduate degree in music edu-cation or conducting preferred. Successful teaching experience in secondary school instrumental music pro-grams and college/university settings. Evidence of professional activity in music education. Professional per-forming experience is required, as well as publication and/or research in music education.

Salary at the rank of Assistant Professor will be based on Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement, and was at $48,750 minimum in fall 2006.
