Hey all,

A great Tuba-Baritone quartet that I've played (actually the only one that I've played) is 'In The Hall of The Mountain King' by Edvard Grieg arranged by Frank Halferty. It brings out great parts for both 1st and 2nd Baritones and Tubas. A great sound and great parts for each with their own distinct solos. I say this because my quartet received a Superior Rating (highest) at our annual Solo and Enseamble Contest, a score of 38 out of 40. I have also done In the Hall of the Mountain King for euphonium-tuba quartet. I think it also does a very good job of showing off the various parts, but I suspect this may be a more difficult arrangement than the one you refer to. You can see a sample score on the Cimarron Music site:

I can thoroughly recommend Dave's arrangement for Tuba Quartet; both my tuba quartets have enjoyed playing it, but my Euphonium & Tuba Ensemble really adored it! Certainly wasn't my conducting of it that enthused them! The enriched sonorities of the larger ensemble gave a real menace to it!

Looking for Euph/Tuba Duets and Quartets

G'day Dwerden,

You seem to be very knowledgeable and I thought you could assist. In Australia it is difficult to get good sheet music. Can you advise a good website to go for printed music for teuph/tuna duets and euph, euph/tuba,tuba quartetes?

One of the difficulities I have found is that most sites do not indicate the level of difficulity and often don't have samples of the music.

I am hopig your experience can help a frustrated Aussie tuba player. I play in a brass band a a wind ensemble.

Looking for Euph/Tuba Duets and Quartets

Being in Australia, and running a large tuba/euphonium ensemble, and several quartets, I can truly appreciate the problem of finding tuba quartets.
I've bought quite a bit from Cimarron
http://www.cimarronmusic.com/
they have lots of charts, including some by David Werden. Every chart I've bought so far has been good, and worked well, and the prices are fair.
I've also had some luck with stuff off eBay.
The local store that specialises in wind band music has also been able to get quite a few tuba-euphonium ensemble charts in, as it's often the same publishers, and in this case I get to see the chart before I decide to buy it.

Yes, I believe Cimarron makes all my music with both TC and BC euphonium parts.
