    Demondrae Thurman

I just got my copy of Demondrae Thurman's new solo CD entitled, "SoliloQuies". It's very good. I especially like the first track - 'Concerto for Euphonium', by Patrick Shulz. Demondrae has a beautiful tone that sounds Bristish to me -- but with a wider (jazz style) vibrato.

You can get this CD for $16.50 (shipping included).

    Demondrae Thruman

I attended a euphonium/tuba day at the University of Memphis in January of 2004. Demondrae was one of the guest teachers and performers. He played with a brass group later that evening. Such tone and flexibility he has!! Very smooth and precise.

Yes, he's a great player. At ITEC in Greensboro, NC 3 years ago, Demondrae played, "Symphonic Variants" with orchestra accomp. He did a great job! I think that piece is one of the most difficult to pull off. I sure couldn't play it. Too high in places (high 'F' ?) and you need to use some multi-phonics in a few places.
