Scales and Arpeggios:
Perform from memory, the following scales and arpeggios in all keys ascending and descending, full range. Minimum speed is 16th notes at quarter note = 80, various articulations:

- Diatonic Scales: Selected major, melodic and harmonic minor scales.
- Chromatic Scale: Perform a minimum of 3 octaves from second E-flat below the staff to E-flat above the staff
- Arpeggios: Perform selected major, minor, augmented, diminished, and dominant seventh arpeggios.

Solo: Perform a solo of your choice which displays your ability at the highest professional level. An accompanist is not required. Suggested pieces:

- Persichetti, Serenade No. 12 for Tuba, at least 3 contrasting movements
- Hindemith, Sonata for Tuba, 3rd movement
- Vaughn-Williams, Concerto for Bass Tuba, 1st movement

Sight-Reading:
Sight-reading of various styles will be required.
