Scales and Arpeggios: Perform all scales and arpeggios from memory, using a variety of articulations, throughout the full practical range of the instrument (two octaves where possible). Minimum tempo for all scale and articulation forms is 16th notes at Quarter note = 100.

* Diatonic scales: Perform all major, melodic minor and harmonic minor scales.
* Chromatic scales: Perform a minimum of three octaves (from Bb2 to Bb5).
* Arpeggios: Perform major and minor arpeggios.

Prepared Solo: Perform at the highest professional standards one of the following works, displaying musical maturity, rhythmic control, technical accuracy, and evenness of tone. An accompanist is not required.
