So much fun! My arms were sore for days.
My son uses a Doug Elliot N104 rim on a Euph Jstar cup with a J9 shank.
For the record, he has had far fewer intonation issues lately. The Sinfonico is a much better instrument than the Dolce, in...
We weighed my son with and without his Sinfonico and it was a 9.4 lb difference.
My son says they’re kind of difficult to get back on, but he doesn’t have much problem with cross-threading with either his Dolce or the Sinfonico.
For the record, James was very pleasant and we are now awaiting our longer tuning slide. However, Logan has adjusted to the horn and the intonation has improved (thank you to Dave for the playing...
Thank you Jonathan!
How can I order one?
Thank you very much. I think he’s going to really need some time to get used to it. It sounds like an Adams. It really does. If he can figure out the intonation, it will be an incredible horn.

My first reactions as he plays it side by side with his Dolce, are that it’s wicked sharp, but the tone is astonishingly good.
My son got his today. He is playing it now. I have to say, it’s really sharp and I hope we can figure it out.
I’m bummed that manufacture has been interrupted and I wish nothing but the best for your partners in China. I wish I could have purchased one at the show in DC!
My son and I were just in DC. He is a euphonium performance and biology major at Carnegie Mellon and looking to upgrade from his Dolce.
He adored the Adams E1 with the sterling silver bell. But...
Matt Jackfert wrote a super cool piece called Appalachian Impressions. In the beginning of the second movement, the Euphonium is muted with multi phonics and its one of the coolest sounds I’ve heard...
How cool! He has only met Abby Lanan that I know of but he is so excited to meet everyone in the studio. I’m excited for him! We have been watching “Matonizz” videos for years and he will...
Thank you so very much! That is a very exciting story for me to hear. Logan has so many opportunities ahead of him at CMU.
Jim, thanks! He almost went for exercise science as a major, but figured if he wants to work with elite musicians, he should become one himself. He sees a possible future working in DCI or even...
I mostly lurk about but I wanted to thank everyone who put up with my proud dad posts about my son, Logan.
He will be studying music performance this fall with Lance LaDuke at Carnegie Mellon...
Originally done by the Marine Band, here’s Logan Willis on Euphonium and Kira Marjanovic on trumpet performing Libertango performing 2/10/19 with the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony

I own a Mack brass Euphonium and a Wessex Dolce. The Wessex is definitely better, but the Mack is still a heck of a horn.
I feel like the Wessex is worth it, but the Mack is a fine horn, too.
I bought my copy as soon as I saw your post...such a brilliant CD!!
I know I’m the annoying proud Dad, but I thought it was worth sharing.

Edison Pen, of course! I really like Bexley and Howard Levy is a great guy. But my favorite pens are all Edison Pens.
I may be a bit biased, of course, being an employee.
This is amazing - thank you all for the input.
My son had said that the high range on the Yamaha came out much easier for him than his Wessex, but the low register was more of a challenge. I...
Hi Jim! Thanks! He played a “custom” 842 at the state convention. How would that compare to the Neo? I’m really confused with Yamaha now
