My answer then is clearly the one I now own. I am fortunate to have been able to buy the horn I felt was the best on the market to suit my tastes. It’s an Adams E3, .60 gage with SS bell. No trigger.

Larry, have you ever met Dr. Bowman? He's one of the nicest most down to earth people I've ever met. There is no way he'd have that kind of attitude in that scenario.
Just saw this thread. sorry to be late. The light swing best fits this piece but it's open to wide interpretation. My two favorites are by Mel Torme and this one by Seth McFarlane.

Was there an option to return it to the seller? Did you get it at a really good price?
The egg carton idea is on the right track. Buy some absorption panels for the walls. It sounds like the room is very live and reflective. They can be very reasonably priced and will help a lot.
Fabulous young Mauro Martins of Portugal plays an Adams E1. .55 SS bell.
Stumbled on this thread. Paris Sketches-Ellerby.
Marvelous job Micah!!!
Amy Schumaker Bliss is playing a Besson 2051 with free floating lead pipe. It may be the only one in existence.
I'm fairly certain I saw where Misa plays a newer horn that is gold lacquered. I am not sure which Besson model but most likely it's still the 967.
I asked her this on FB and she didn't elaborate.
Bente Illevold: Shires Custom and a Doug Elliott mouthpiece.
Steven Mead is also using the Brakul 4th valve bottom cap and top button.
Could be worse. You could be a Red Sox fan! 😂
If you get back to Michigan and are in the Detroit area, let me know. I’d love to meet you in person John.
Some first impressions on the Demondrae which arrived today. It's a very different mouthpiece from my Doug Elliott. My DE is configured as follows: 102 rim which is 25.9mm, I cup which is similar to...
Thanks John. It will be used with my E3 with SS bell. It will be a bit wider and shallower than the Doug Elliot I currently use. I’ll let you know my impressions when I get some time with it.
I’m...
Thanks Don. Much appreciated! I pulled the trigger.
John what do you like about this mouthpiece? I've never tried one but thought about pulling the trigger. Is the size equivalent to a Wick 3?
Having played in brass bands for 25 and now back to a concert band, dynamics differ from one to the other. A 30 piece brass band can play louder than an 80 piece concert band. The concert band forte...
My take is ideally 3-4 is good but as long as the section plays balanced with the rest of the band it’s not an issue. When I played in the Symphony Band in college there were 6 euphs in the section....
I’m surprised at the strong reactions against the large section. Most adults are playing in community bands which are usually open to anyone who wants to join and can play the parts. That’s been my...
On my E3 it’s 3rd instead of 1 and 2.
Nice post Marcoso! It’s always a journey when shopping for a new horn. For forty years I owned a Willson 2900S. Great horn with a great sound. I consider myself a very good player and I put up with...
Doug, is the responsiveness of your horn due to the .60 metal and SS bell or does the valve section also contribute?
