Don’t know if the Schiller brand interests you Barry, but Jim Labbs has a few models according to their website.
Thanks Jose, I’ll search for one of those.
Wondering if anyone out there either has a Humes & Berg velvet tone mute for euphonium (12” bell) for sale, or knows of any dealer who may have them. I’m not even sure that they are still...
Valerie now carries a new color, she calls “basic dove gray” which is a great match for those of us who have silver plated euphs. As always, it is extremely well made and does look great on the horn.
Thank you Barry, that clarifies it perfectly for me !

Dave,
I understand the difference between a soldered bell bead and a crimped bell bead, but is there a difference in sound/projection/or any other characteristics ?
Back in my college days, when a trumpet major, I owned a Bach 4 valve piccolo and a Getzen 4 valve Eterna flugelhorn. I too, used my left index for the 4th valve. Found it comfortable to use and...
Having every confidence in your opinion Dave, I just spoke with Steve Marcus at the Chicago store and ordered one up. Surprised they are still open at this hour. This batch should be arriving...
Just may make a purchase of this one Christiane, it does look quite nice and the price is nice as well. Availability looks like March 2020 at this point.
Just happened to notice that Dillon Music has the Shires Q series euphonium in stock, with either a large shank or euro shank receiver, both in silver, interesting. Not at an outrageous price either....
Getting more interesting Dave, re-listed yet again at $3,500, still has a make offer as well
That would be me and yes, I am extremely happy to now own this horn, it is in truly wonderful condition and I hope to get many years of enjoyment from it. Although I’ll never be in the same...
Sent you an email Doug
There is currently a Conn Constellation euphonium 24I or 25I with two bells as I understand it and also has a tuning slide mechanism for sale on Reverb. I’m not sure how to post it here.
It’s...
That is so ridiculous, it’s actually fantastic !!
Davidus1,
Do you mean Soundwear, made in the UK ? If so, I do own one and like it very much. They have 3 models: Protector $150, Performer $280 and Professional $325. For me, the Performer was...
Jim,
In the event the gutter Rick has does not fit, I know for a fact my Wessex Dolce came with one that I also use on my Neo. At one time, the Wessex website had them for sale, I no longer see...
Thanks guys, I figured given its condition, the price and the large shank receiver it would be a winning deal.
Dave,
Just purchased the Besson, price was way too good to let it go, thanks for the heads up !!!
Extremely well played Dave, so that’s what a double bell euph should sound like, perhaps one day i’ll get mine to sound close to that !!! Thanks much
Second valve slides seem to be like that. I use Hetman TSG #8 on the second slide, Hetman slide lubricant #5 on the first, third and comp slide and Denis Wick valve oil on the tuning slide as it’s a...
Thank you Rick, I will make contact with them,
Nick
Not sure where to post this, but curious to know if anyone has experience with some kind of protector that can protect the third valve tuning slide area from your left hand when wearing a watch.
