an update!
following a good deal of practice, I’m still using the SM6 and am a lot happier with the tone I’m getting. I also play the bassoon and it’s interesting to sometimes hear the “reedy”...
and also the Telemann sonata in F minor. have a look on youtube.
how about studies? there’s a two-set of bassoon studies called Arthritis III that are a good workout, they’re in the grade 7 syllabus.
ooh, thank you for the advice, that’s given me lots of things to work with (and not necessarily rushing onto a new mouthpiece, from what you’ve all said!) I shall definitely check out some online...
