I haven't played since I broke my neck back in May. At first, the doc said no. Then limited time doing so. Now I'm cleared full OK.
Previously the virus shut down my banding and then Tuba...
If only I could channel Lyndon. My playing would be perfect!

I love the fact that the euph was a satin finish New Standard!
DG
No wonder no one wants to sit to my right...LOL.
DG
Scrumptous!
DG
Good job! A Polka just ain't a Polka without a tuba.

The wrap looks a lot like my 1918 Hawkes & Son 3&1.
DG
3 & 1 euphs came about for a reason. Over a hundred years ago, even.
Weak pinkys in most players, and your left hand was already there, holding the horn.

Touches two of my favorite things: Radio & euphonium.
Hard to tell if Mantia used the whisper bell at all.

Yep, loosen the screw just a tad, and don't forget to make sure the valve still has a bit of movement so as not to mash the felts when stored. Just pry it very slightly with fingers to adjust...
Turn it up...

One great compilation of bands. That is a tough technical nut to crack with all the vagaries of the internet--well played.

Hi FujiFilm,
Here's one you can add:
Suite on Celtic Folk Songs
TATEBE, T - Bravo/Brain Music
This a a great piece for band.

I have a restored New Standard in satin.
I've tried every possible method to 'clean' the satin finish without gradually bringing it to 'polished' state.
Every time you rub it with polish...
Thanks for that, John. It pulls at my heart, as my mom emigrated from Germany in 1928.
These ladies do justice over there, too: https://youtu.be/H_sBjG7pCRQ?list=LL

Given the somewhat limited ability of my PC audio, I couldn't hear any real difference, as both were excellent.

Schweet, Doug. Just schweet!
DG
Very nice work, and offering as well!

My New Standard was completely restored by Dan Oberloh in Seatle a few years ago. Not cheap ($3,500), but it was ultimately worth it.
I was really picky, Dan really put up with me, and it looks...
Never broke a spring, just wore them out.
I did, however, lose the cork out of the 3rd spit-valve whilst playing a solo. I didn't know until I needed a high Db...fffttt!
Dennis
A faithful recreation of the New Standard with your talents on intonation would be a nice addition to the euph world for those without monster lungs.
Dennis
Doug is too kind, but the horn does play better than I do!
A really good player friend said "It is prettier than a Prestige, with tone straight from the gods". "Wanna trade?"
DG
Ouch!

Thanks for the referral!
I just bought a set of buttons for my NS, and since they have no inserts, I'll set them with Arizona turquoise.
