Interesting. A few years ago, Hiram talked about a modified 51D mouthpiece that GW had made for him. When I asked him about it, he told me that he had gone back to his 51D. I wonder if this is new...
What do you have available? The ones you have listed are marked as sold.

Since the 3 works well with the Adams E2, and I play a Willson 2900, Josh thought the 3 would be better.
Mike
I agree. I compared the 1 and the 3 kept the 3. Since getting it, I haven't had the urge to pull out a different piece. That's something in and of itself.

According to Josh at ACB, they are based on Alliance and THIM mouthpieces.

The Laskey 57E came out about 15 years ago. After Scott Laskey died a few years ago, production got screwed up. Good to see they are started up again.

My advice would be to check out a site like Presto Music (https://www.prestomusic.com/classical) and look at some of the reviews that they have. It's going to be tough to find a "greatest hits of"...

Yeah. But how much of that is the mullet?
Mike
One thing to keep in mind is that you can tighten them down more if they are lubricated. So, if they end up drying out, they will be more difficult to remove. Not an issue with the top caps, but it...

No issue in a 2900.

Mazurka. Nicolas Falcone.
The way I read Matt's response is that the 5th valve is independent.
For example, "As to the choice of Gb tuning, the independent valve is usable anywhere a 2-3 combination could also be used"....
Willson 2900. Purchased in 1985 from Brian Bowman.

The 2900 is definitely not bright sounding, but it has a more focused warm sound.
Mike
Willson 2900 purchased new in 1985. Only issues are a few spots where the silver plating has worn and a rattly slide brace that happened about 2 years ago and was easily fixed.
Mike
I really wouldn't worry about it. Missing five days of not playing is not an issue. Just buzz on your mouthpiece some and enjoy the break.

Hi Larry,
With regard to Hetmans, the Hetmans 7.5 is better than Hetmans 8 (which is the grease). The 8 is more solid, but it is much less sticky and much slicker than the 7.5. This Houghton...
I have an original Lehman as well. For me, it is the most comfortable rim I have ever used.
Mike
That's not quite correct. The different cup designations correspond to the width of the cup. So, for example, an LT I cup is the same depth as a Euph I cup, but it is narrower. The Euph cups are in...
yes it is.

I have the MB 51 Solo in medium shank. I find it harder to play than a Wick 4. The cup is deeper and the rim is very rounded which makes it feels larger than a 51D. I had listed for sale a few weeks...
I have also found that the Kelly backbores are not the same as their brass counterparts. My Kelly 5D and 51D have much larger backbores than the brass mouthpieces.
