Updated stock and pricing.
It was a huge learning experience and, like every other new thing I try to learn myself, a lot more involved than I first anticipated - especially having almost no power tools!
Made some custom inlays for my finger buttons and just had saturn waterkeys installed.

Another interesting question, I think (maybe not interesting enough to deserve its own thread), is: Are there any horns you regret getting rid of? I got a Willson 2950 my senior year of high school,...
Hey, the criteria was money being no object! If I don't like it, I can always sell it and buy back my Shires AND have some walking around money ;)
Inderbinen, just because it's a white whale (and the most expensive)
What sources are you using to come to this conclusion? Not being contrary here, just genuinely curious - this topic has always interested me.
Honestly I doubt they measured anything. They probably copy/pasted a spec sheet.
If you're serious about studying euphonium *performance* (vs. music education, comp, business, etc.), it might behoove you to save the money you have right now and continue saving up for something...
If this was their version of the Sovereign, was the Eminence York's version of the Prestige? From what I understand these are fantastic horns, so that price looks like a great deal!
Just remembered a couple more (unless they've switched recently) - Tormod Flaten and Bastien Baumet both play Sovereigns. One thing I'd be interested in finding out is if any well-known Japanese...
That's what I'm here for :)
I guess if you prefer a different example, switch "642" to "321," "Besson New Standard," or "Boosey round stamp," and nothing else about what I said changes. :)
The country (and brass playing...
No offense taken :)
I'm speaking from experience as someone who does this stuff for a living - I don't really look at tuba or trombone forums much. I talk to my repair techs, and they talk to people in other shops. The...
I understand that, regarding the designs of the horns. What I'm referring to more specifically is the proven build quality from a brand like Yamaha and (NS-era) Besson. Another huge factor for me is...
My personal belief/assumption is that almost every "entry" level, Chinese-made, compensating euphonium (Wessex Dolce, Packer 274, Schiller, Mack, et. al, as well as any retailer-branded instrument)...
Gail isn't really one to test out many different instruments. She knows what works for her and sticks to it - something I really admire about her, honestly (among the multitude of other things!) -...
Here are a few I can add off the top of my head, because it's fun to know what everyone plays on:
Demondrae Thurman - Miraphone 5050/Warburton
Gail Robertson - Willson 2950/Warburton
Mark Glover...
The horn sold at the shop today!
I thought they had moved production to the UK? I can't remember where I heard that.
This makes a lot of sense. I've been giving this mouthpiece a try lately, and it "feels" bigger on my face than the Gail Robertson piece I normally play on, even though I don't believe it's actually...
Do you happen to know the specs?
It's around 20-21 inches at the minimum height, so I'm thinking it'd be a "stretch." I'll ship for $15 at that distance.
