    This depends on context.

They are smaller in diameter than a wick 4, but the standard jones 51 is deeper.

Also, they donít feel as small as the spec suggests.

Still a bit small for my...

Iíll say that the Jones 51 is hands down the most comfortable 51D style mouthpiece Iíve played. The diameter is a little smaller than my regular preference, but itís a very, very comfortable piece....

Based on the chart you posted, I hope not - there are some truly crazy tendencies on that Eastman - like the concert G at nearly -20 cents!

I will say that I find the difference subtle, but noticeable.

For me, using a heavy 4th cap allows some better slotting, and seems to darken things up a bit. As always, YMMV.

The lead pipe is curved slightly differently and adds a little more resistance to my feel.

The trigger mechanism can be fiddly if you don't regularly lubricate it - if you do, it's fine. For my...

  10. FS: Willson 2960 with UK leadpipe

    Selling my 2960.

I had the standard leadpipe replaced with the UK leadpipe - so you can see where the brace had to be moved. Otherwise in perfect condition.

    This is incredibly subjective.

It sounds like a besson. I don't mean that sarcatically - it has the characteristic british singing quality.

What doesn't she like about the Neo?

    I've got them both.

To me, the DC3 feels a bit smaller, feels like it has more core, and seems darker to me.

I did end up buying it, for less than the advertised price.

I had a thorough cleaning done, and replaced all the bumpers and springs. It plays well.

Thanks Steve. Itís exciting that we will have a US maker producing a high end euphonium again. I think Kanstul made one before they closed but there isnít another to my knowledge.

Points taken, though I don't personally agree - I prefer a 4 valve instrument to a 3 valve. Both from the standpoint of available alternates, and for 4th valve usage in difficult lit.

    Welcome to the forum!

I wouldn't necessarily agree the neo is THE horn to buy - I believe it's a 3 valve horn, and you may want a 4th valve for some more difficult works.
