Hello folks. (Not sure where to post this, so please move as necessary!)

Just wondering if there are any community bands...
Small world indeed! At the time, he was still a Gunnery Sergeant, he was the Placement Director for my district, and did my audition to get into the band when I was still in high school. That was a...
Any updates on this? Excited to try it.
Ouch, sorry to hear about your bell.
It's quite odd. It may be my practice space right now (I need to change it up a bit and test it out), but thus far, I'm not finding any real difference in the...
Good to know it's coming from someone on the forum! I didn't even realize. Haha.
It's good to know that this isn't standard. But I love the horn, and from what I can tell, it isn't affecting the way the horn plays or sounds. I'll keep an eye out on the spot, and as long as it...
Sorry it's been a while. It finally arrived! Well, like a week ago now. :D My first impression...WOW! If I had to describe the horn in one word, it would be "Big!" In a good way of course. It may be...
Really, it depends on you. Find a mouthpiece that works for you and stick with it. I went through a phase where I was trying every mouthpiece I could find, and none of them were quite what I wanted....
I'll definitely keep you guys updated and try to take some pictures and such when it gets here, if that'll help.
Waiting on the Schiller to do something with my eBay offer. They have less than an hour at this point to accept or counter. If they do nothing, I think I'm gong to pull the trigger on the Dolce gold...
Thanks, euphdude! If I end up going with the Dolce, I'll see how it feels before I make any purchases. I'm currently playing on a 6 1/2 al with my baritone horn, so I feel like just about anything...
Does anyone who has purchased a Wessex Dolce know what mouthpiece comes with it, or rather, what standard brand it compares to? It almost looks like a Denis Wick. What size is it? I used to play on a...
Ooh. That makes sense. I didn't see the original before you edited it.
Yeah, it's definitely not compensating, and probably doesn't have a sound profile that would match it's appearance, but it is quite stunning to look at. Now, where can I get a black nickel...
I did notice that it was the starting price. Thanks for the insight.
BTW, I don't know why, but I find this horn very attractive, although I don't think it would be practical in an ensemble...
Thanks for all the input so far. It's really helped. I think if I can get the Schiller Euphdude suggested for under $800, I'll go with that, otherwise, I'll end up getting the Dolce in Gold Brass...
Oh my. I like that. I've never heard of this brand before. I think if I were to go with this, I'd spend the extra 1200 and get the 374, though. Haha.
Thanks, Euphdude!
I had looked into this horn, too, but I wasn't sure how it compared to "Elite V" models, as in, would the nearly double price be a significant upgrade, or would they be similar...
These would definitely not cut it as far as performances go, but I'd be looking at it more as a practice horn to get my chops back, and something to keep at home once I get back in. Thanks for the...
Thanks for the advice, Dave. I don't necessarily need the horn once I get into the military, as the bands have one they let you use once you get in, typically the Yamaha for the concert band style...
Hello all!
I've been reading through these forums for a couple of weeks when I stumbled upon them as I was looking for a decent inexpensive euphonium to purchase. I was in the Marine Corps Band in...
