Maybe you could add a small rubber washer under the 4th valve lock and screw. The M5050 horn has that type of lock and it works well. I'll try to share an image below.

Excellently played Vito! I started listening on my iPad earlier but stopped and told myself I needed to listen on my PC with better speakers. Very nice! I could hear you over the band all the time...
Dave already addressed this question but earlier I looked for about an hour on the web for an image or diagram I remember seeing long ago where someone added a block of some kind to move his hand...
I've only done minor mods to my M5050 in the twelve years I've had it. My brass repair tech at "All County Music" in Tamarac, FL about 10 years ago replaced the PVC spacers between valve and top cap...
I just stumbled on this video from 50 yrs ago of Henry Mancini conducting his orchestra playing 3 of his best known hits... "Pink Panther", "Baby Elephant Walk" and "Peter Gunn Theme". Some very...
Dennis, I think they’re referring to picture #7 showing the 4th valve not up all the way.
Very nice Dave with smooth glisses. I like how you zoomed in to capture the glisses.
Oh wow! I wonder if Ryan McGeorge is retiring? He joined in 2004.
That’s funny and entertaining. Thanks for sharing.
Ah too funny Gary. I don't like having to use a practice mute but if I have to I use a 'Best Brass Practice Mute' for euphonium. It kills the sound by about 90% I think.
Here's a link with more...
It’s a simple choice for me too. My Miraphone 5050 which I’ve had now for 12 years.
Here's some information on the Remington Shank:
I just happen to see a Remington shank mpc for sale on TubeNet forum here if you're having trouble locating one Jimdd.
Reading some of the posts below the video someone said these are 'Tubaxes' or 'Tubax'. The bell does look bigger to me than the contrabass sax.
With tongue firmly in cheek... it's an awful lot of...
Thanks for sharing Larry.
I guess I hadn't noticed before that your were located in the Minot, ND area. A tidbit of info you might get a chuckle out of, one of of my assignments while in the Air...
Well I don't own an Imperial but a Miraphone 5050. I do have a water key on my 3rd slide and use it but only at the end of practice or rehearsal. Since it's such a long slide to pull I like having...
Pretty interesting article Dave on the DB euphonium with pictures too! There’s only one piece of music that I can remember where it called for the smaller bell. It was “Light Cavalry Overture” by...
I found it on Amazon. Medium voice in ‘F’ is what I bought. Same key as on that CD.

Just found the info on that piece. See this post:

I played “Open the Gates of the Temple” with organ accompaniment about ten years ago. I’ll have to search for the sheet music to find the arranger sometime tomorrow. Here’s a link to listen to a...
Carlyle Weber, who played the Willson 2900 for over 20 years as principal euph with the Army Field Band, told me that the medium shank worked best with the 2900. Said the taper matched the lead pipe...
Unless Yamaha has changed the 842 model recently the lead pipe is way too low for my liking.
Thanks for the ‘walk thru’ video of the elephant room(s) Mark.
Some YouTube videos are being made available from this past weekend's U.S. Army Tuba-Euphonium workshop (formerly TUSABTEC). See link below:

There's a way to clean any sliver object using hot water, baking soda and aluminum foil. The video below is of the guy doing it with a trumpet but if you have a very large tub it could work with your...
