That looks great. Enjoy your new instrument.
I tried fish oil once and it really helped with my scales………
I’ll get my coat!
I think the 1899 refers to the Carnival in Venice in 1899 which the music refers too.
I can’t open Spotify but is it the same version as this YouTube clip with John Clough playing?

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head.
That’s probably the easiest and quickest way to check which is which.
Haha, I had a player next to me who did the same thing. I tried to point this out to him but he just ignored me and carried on regardless. His 4th valve slide was all the way out but didn’t have an...
Congratulations on your new instrument. I’m sure the valves will be good once you’ve given them some use. Enjoy
Very nice. Takes me right back.
Enjoy your new purchase.
Nice collection and great that there is someone who can compare the JP374 directly to the Thomann 906.
I see that you have already commented that the JP374 has more resistance and a darker sound...
Most Jinbao Euphoniums are based on Yamahas and JP Euphoniums based on Besson.
I believe you are missing out by pointing towards used Bessons and Yamahas. I’ve played on both brands and wouldn’t...
I did own a Yamaha YEP201 which had good intonation and they seem quite popular.
The Sonic is 4 valve.
That’s very interesting if they are indeed the same as the JP Euphoniums.
In the UK the Silver with Gold EP906 can be bought for £1,577 from Thomann compared with £2,511 for the JP374T in Silver...
I’ve never heard of a Randerfalk but thanks for posting and I hope it works for you as expected.
Looks like Dave answered whilst I was typing and has basically confirmed that it is likely set in high pitch.
Hi, it’s sounds like the instrument is quite old and a high pitch instrument compared to modern instruments. A technician could adapt this for you but it’s going to cost a bit so it all depends on...
In reply to jstanner post #28.
I bought a brand new Wessex Dolce during covid when I didn’t have access to any other Euphonium. I’d read the reviews and for the price thought it was worth...
Nice list Micah.
One to add,
Basteien Baumet, Besson Sovereign 967/968 with trigger system, Wick 4AL
This will more likely be at an entertainment contest. They regularly swap things round between pieces.
I play a JP374 Sterling and use Tech Oil. You only use a few drops (1 or 2 per valve) and it lasts for weeks.
One thing that I forgot to mention is the fact you can really get some air through the mouthpiece which I think works great with the JP374 I’m currently playing. You do need to work the instrument to...
Good to hear that you are also having a positive response with your M&B mouthpiece.
I thought I would share my thoughts on the Mercer and Barker GW3 mouthpiece that I acquired a couple of weeks ago.
There seems to be very little about the mouthpieces unless it’s from artist who...
