To say they downgraded was an understatement!

I've had Ivan customize pieces for me before. For example, I had him make a version of his Brandon Jones piece with a deeper cup. He's generally good with it, but it'll cost you.
Pretty close. The Greg black is 190 grams.
I have one - I got the 290, 3.5G-5GD. I like it quite a bit.
Sharper rim than something like the demondrae, but it still sounds good, and I have a good amount of flexibility.
I do wonder...
Oh man, I totally missed the date.
Whoops!
Hey Doug, I'm curious what the upcoming leadpipe changes are - do you have a link to anything about them?
In the past, fedex has been exactly as Fujifilm has indicated. UPS has required payment before delivery.
On the euphoniums I've gotten from overseas, about 50% have triggered customs fees. ...
I agree with this. I do not care for the Custom, for whatever reason.
I'm not sure about plating slides - I know there are shops that can do this, but it may be more money than it's worth.
Mouthpieceexpress.com sells valve caps and buttons, I believe.
In terms of...
Yes, I have them all.
I have the two piece R3S, R2S, R3, and a full set of shanks. I reached out to Patrik to get them.
I also have the R3X and R4X rims with 2 cups and 2 shanks.
The down...
John,
Take a look at the attached images.
I have a close up of the rim profile, and an overall view.
R3: Yellow
R3S: Green
Demondrae: Red
Similar contour, but everything that isn’t in tune is below the fundamental of the horn. IMO, that’s going to be a tough road.
That graph for the Q90 is pretty shocking. I saw it at midwest, but didn't have a medium shank MP with me, so didn't get to play it.
It was at the Midwest band and orchestra clinic, but I went by the booth twice, once on Wednesday and once on Friday, and it wasn’t there either time.
I talked with the rep.
11.5” bell,...
I’m pretty sure they’re primarily a local store, and aren’t focused on long distance or internet based sales. The couple of times I’ve been there, they’ve been great.
Keep in mind, “problem” is relative.
My besson 2052 isn’t flat on the A, but the 5th and 6th partials are high. Every horn has a compromise.
Playing the A 4th valve helps.
Middle A, just below “tuning” Bb. My current horn has the standard lead pipe at the moment.
It’s still flat, but not as egregious as the 2900. It’s a pretty widely known Willson trait.
I’ve owned two 2960’s.
One I bought just before covid, and I immediately bought a UK version leadpipe and had it put on. I loved the valves, the horn played well, and the notoriously flat...
Agreed - Patrick is awesome.
I'm currently trying an R3 with 7.4mm shank. I ordered an R2S and R3S because I THINK I like the flatter rim of the S. Time will tell.
It took me some time to get...
Sold for $3700.
It's worth noting that there is now USA distribution for Geneva that is more easily reachable:

They are pretty responsive.

There's a new recording out today of Peter Graham's new Concerto "Force of Nature".
David Childs plays with Black Dyke, and it's a bit of a barn burner.
He sounds a little different to me...
Sold.
I just PM'd you.
