    Mute cases

I have a DW aluminum euphonium mute and plan on buying the practice mute as well. I'll have reason to carry them around from time to time, so I'm looking for advice. I've seen the DW mute cases...

Thanks, John. That's as I thought, but being new to the trigger, I'm still working out my procedures.
  5. Adjusting triggered tuning slide pre performance

Do most of you with a triggered tuning slide have to adjust the slide with the screw locking mechanism prior to performance, i.e. tuning with the band, ensemble or piano tuning note?

Thanks, David. I'm preparing a duet with our church pianist on Ave Maria, but I can take your duet and use our trombonist with it. Thanks again.

    Looking for score

I saw a wonderful YouTube video of David Werden and Tim Morris playing Ave Maria with piano. Is the score for that duet available? Maybe David is reading this thread?

    Polishing/cleaning laquered sterling silver

I'm assuming that a laquered sterling silver bell doesn't tarnish and only needs cleaning with a damp cloth (or Pledge if one wants to). Am I correct? No need to use silver polish?

Thanks to all for the information. My newly acquired E1 was spot on with intonation at rehearsal with very little warm up. I'm pleased.

    Trigger usage

I've seen some posts on how some players use their trigger, but I haven't seen this question addressed. So for those new to a trigger, how does it work for over-all initial tuning? What I mean is...

Thanks to all. I'm convinced that "overthinking" is a genetic mutation I picked up many generations ago! Now if I can just master this darn beard trimmer.

    Facial hair affecting playing

Hey euphers -- I'm growing some facial hair, starting out with a goatee, stache, and soul patch. Not too far along yet, but I'm curious about any effect it could have on the embouchure. Certainly the...

    Composing/writing music

Can anyone shed light on these two questions:
My community band is preparing a piece for our next concert and it has two odd (to me at least) features. One is the use of a double B flat -- why write...

Pat, I've asked myself the same question. Frankly, part of it is my innate desire to experiment and explore. I've owned probably 10 or more guitars in my life time just to see what's out there and...

Thanks, David. I'll take a look at the JPs and Eastman's. Would love to be in the area, but too far to make it work. I need to wait for it to come to the east.

    Trading up or trading laterally?
