One thing I would think would be beneficial would be a means of "continuous lubrication". It seems crude and inefficient to have to unscrew and remove the valves in order to add valve oil.

For me, going to stainless steel was a huge improvement. I've tried a few from the Giddings line, going small to large: Kadja, GW-102, GW-103, and Carbonaria. They are all great, but the 102 works...
I have an E1, and for ME, Giddings GW=102 is way better than anything else I have tried. IMO the sound quality, and the feel (and other advantages) of stainless steel make it worth the extra...
Thank you for the informative videos!
Maybe most people already know this, but thought I'd share something that I recently discovered for myself...
I have found that it is possible to use valves 4 + 1 for low concert B flat (instead...
Way cool, listened to it twice.
Wow!
I just purchased a QHR a couple of weeks ago. Unless that has changed, they are still in business.
I had the same problem. Adams sent me a shorter tuning slide, which fixed the problem with no modifications to the horn itself.
Loved it, thanks for sharing! I am intrigued by the multitrack recording process, but know nothing about it. The flugelhorn and euphonium sound really nice together. I have been trying to pick up...
The purpose of a bell cover is to reduce emission of particles, correct? I would think that with the length of tubing in a euph or tuba, that most if not all "aerosol" would condense and not be...
Once I tried my first Giddings mp I was sold. After much experimentation my favorites are GW102 on my Adams, and Kadja-M (medium shank) my old Besson. GW-103 and Carbonaria are also great if you are...
GW-102, GW-103, Kadja, & Carbonaria.
After experimenting with a cheap trumpet and a cheap flugelhorn I resold both of those and got a really good flugelhorn a few months ago, and am enjoying playing it. It is a slightly used Adams F1,...
I love the feel of stainless steel, and aside from the feel of it, there are other inherent advantages over plated brass (see their website for more info). Personally, I love the clarity of sound...
Maybe so... I will keep on using it and see if it decreases with time.
I asked the Monster people via their website, and they say that a slight yellowish tint is from anti-corrosive agent, but I would say that this is more than slight and I would definitely call it...
I was using Roche-Thomas, and still have been, intermittently. There is otherwise no evidence of corrosion inside the horn. It is an Adams and I keep it pretty clean.
I recently got some Monster valve oil to try, and I must say that it really does seem to make the valves move more quickly. However, when I empty the water from the tuning slides it comes out brown....
This apparently sold for $3800! I would have expected it to go higher. (It is just like mine.) :(
Nice video, thanks! I have been doing this for some time, based on your written description of the exercise. I have found it to be very helpful, but it is nice to actually see it demonstrated.
Thanks for the additional info. I find that with effort on the Schiller I can produce what I consider to be a nice tone, but of course have nothing to compare it to, i.e. I don't question that the...
Interesting, thanks! If money were no object...
I've been looking at this horn for a while. Compared to my Adams E1 euph, my Schiller baritone is what I would call "difficult" to play, i.e. less responsive, more missed notes, more difficult upper...
Thank you, I will check it out. "Hymnprovisations" is clever. I see that there is a CD-ROM with instrument parts...Does the CD also contain "play along" tracks?
