I play on an E1 with a gold brass bell. It’s a very sweet horn, but doesn’t like getting pushed to the extreme!
That is true, isn’t the effect of the thickness also dependent on the material used on the instrument?
I’m curious what made you go with the .70 thickness? Most Adams horns I’ve played are .60, are there any differences with a thicker material?
She’s a fantastic musician! I’m actually her upperclassman and sent her your listing as soon as I saw it! She loved the E3, but couldn’t find anyone selling one till yours!
Depending on what kind of setup you have with it, I use the Mercer and Bark MB3-ET. It fits really well into the receiver and I love the sound it has through my Adam’s!
I actually go to the University of Oklahoma down in Norman, OSU is a very good music school. I think the only complaint I hear is that even as a performance major you have to be apart of their...
I have to agree with you there, it is in excellent condition. However, that’s a hard price to swallow!
I’m selling my Griego BB1 mouthpiece I bought back in February of 2022. It is a great mouthpiece if you like the Schilke 51D sound. Wasn’t quite my style, it’s barely been used and only insertion...
I sent a DM as well!
I’ll agree with Dave on the Adam E1’s weight. I had to switch to something lighter after playing on an older Yamaha 642S. It was painful to play standing up due to the weight and strain on my back!...
Hmm it’s an interesting description, I’m just worried about dropping $400 on a mouthpiece I can’t test! I liked the sound of my SM4U, but it doesn’t quite work well with my new Adams. I’ve heard...
Do you know what is different with the new GVL model?
For Texas, the big one is UNT, however you will not be given enough opportunities as an undergrad there. Texas Tech has a very good Tuba/Euphonium studio under Dr. Wass. However, there are usually...
How do you think the 26.4mm top vs the 26mm top differ in sound quality? I’ve thought about getting an AR Resonance mouthpiece and I currently play on a SM4U. Tony recommended the M top, but I didn’t...
I’m auditioning for the Frontier Brass Band near Edmond, Oklahoma run by Dr. Ryan Sharp! I’d love to hear any advice or tips for playing in a brass band for the first time. I’ll be playing euphonium...
I hate getting stuck on details and having to iron out one small section, however as a musician it’s impossible not to. When I was rehearsing and learning my senior recital music it was an extremely...
I used a soundwear bag to replace my old Yamaha case. I loved the gig bag, and I have definitely left dents in some walls on accident cause of it. However it is super bulky, I hated having to travel...
I was taught to play in tune, however it is nearly impossible to be fully in tune with an ensemble. Every instrument has their own tuning quirks and my college director never stressed tuning much....
Sent you a pm!
My post is somewhere in the For Sale section on page 2!
I’m able to ship it! Finding a buyer is nearby, so I’m able to ship the horn in the US.
I love that explanation! I feel as a college student, I’ve rotated through mouthpieces as I’ve learned from different professors. My 2 undergrad professors had 2 different ideas on euphonium sound...
I’m selling my 642S that’s based in Texas as well if you’re near that area.
That’s the only downside, is that they’re so expensive! However, I love the multiple options the offer, I’ll send them an email to get more information if I end up going the Resonance route.
