Hello fellow Euphers,
I am posting this in multiple threads as it may spark different conversations.
Below is the information about the new concerto but I also wanted to post in this thread...

That was the set up we had when I was there (99-03). Mr. Bertolet has had several successful students!
Just found this, you guys are very kind! To bring it back to euph, we should all aspire to sing through our horns!
Guido that 2021 date is in question now, current events are related.
Because they are well made instruments that sound good and do what you want them to do. Try one yourself (as soon as you can)!
Yes! Soon!
I just checked, rechecked, checked the instructions again... on my Shires Q41 I got 6.7cm.

I’d like to introduce the High Bridge Brass, an all conical brass quintet. The quintet’s members are:
Chris Martin of the New York Philharmonic and Mark Ridenour of the Chicago...
Currently I play a 51D on euph and a Greg Black 4G-5G M (for medium weight) on trombone. Although...I can’t find a super great reason for playing different mouthpieces. Because of what Don said, if...

😝, miss you old friend!
Last week I played the Ponchielli Concerto at work. It’s the 5th different piece I’ve played in front of the band (including on tour), and I’ve had a lot of feedback from my colleagues. The main take...
Please find me on instagram or Facebook. There are a number of clips I have recorded so far. I have had the instrument for less than a month.
Hello Everyone,
It’s gonna take a while to sift through your comments. I am currently playing a Shires Euphonium Prototype, which is very fine. What Shires is working on offering is a fully Custom...
Yes I do play a 51D. I won my job playing a BB1 but truly it is a sharp rimmed mouthpiece that I just couldn’t see playing comfortably anymore. My teacher in high school, Jay Bertolet, recommended...
The simplest and best explanation is that when adjusting the pitch, as is necessary in every ensemble, the Willson 2900 maintains its tone quality. The timbre/color/character/basic sound does not...
Also I've played that horn, and can confirm the brands marked improvement in the pitch of those notes.
Dave, I think the operative phrase there is "long ago". I would argue that while the pitch tendencies remain the same, the newest Willson 2900's are far improved and the sound quality when adjusting...
There is a pro in DC who puts his Willson 2900 in a MB case, I'm am not sure if it was custom fitted.
