Hi Mike,
There's this, unless you're set on piston valves: https://www.baltimorebrasscompany.com/p-7703-mirafone-54l-4-valve-oval-bariton.aspx

Wow, what a great collection!
The pictures look great, congrats!
Speaking of gaps, Warburton offers an interesting device to measure them. Here's the link:

Happy birthday!
Have you tried Matt Van Emmerik's mouthpiece? It's a "4G" size with 3 models of varying depths: https://matthewvanemmerik.wordpress.com/accessories-for-sale/

Wow! What a beautiful horn!

I'm sorry to hear this. RIP Henry Charles Smith.

I was just telling a student about these. I'm sorry to hear they are no longer being made. Perhaps one could be manufactured by a skilled repair tech?

Thanks!
Hi Dave,
Nice comparison videos. I think I prefer the DC3 better than the 4AL. There seems to be just a bit more presence and clarity with the DC3. Will you be doing a video of the DC3 and DC4?

I found this interview on YouTube. RIP Doc Louder.
David Miles and Earle Louder are featured in this video.

That's an interesting comparison. At first I thought the 4AL was definitely better. However, as the video continued I wasn't so sure. There are certainly characteristics I like from both mouthpieces....
Wow! This takes me back. I played this model, minus the gold wash bell, when I first started band.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for the kind words. It was nice meeting you too! That doesn't seem so long ago, but it was. Surely that's a sign I'm getting old. I hope you're doing well!
Warm regards,

Barry,
Jerry's products are fantastic. I can't recommend them highly enough and he's a great guy. I just received an order from him and took some photos.

There are a few of these "tromboniums" on eBay that might fit the bill. They're definitely lighter and brighter than your average baritone or euphonium.

Hi Micah,
Thanks for the kind words. I am by no means a professional writer, but I'm glad you found the treatise interesting. I'm thankful that Steve shared so much of his time for the numerous...
Hello Everyone,
Out of curiosity, I tried finding a new King 2266 (the four valve, bell front version) on the internet. I think I was looking mainly out of nostalgia, but I also wondered if it...
I've tried a number of cleaners, including vinegar. However, I've had the best results with a valve cleaner that Jerry Pollard makes. It's excellent. Here's a link:...
I also vote for the blue mouthpiece. I think I know which mouthpieces you're testing but I'll wait for the big reveal.

Hi Micah,
Very nice playing! Thanks for the demo.

A rotary fourth valve would be interesting. I'd imagine it would allow for a configuration of the first 3 valve either up or front facing. I think I've seen compensating rotary valves on tubas...
It's difficult to think of anything new that's actually worth trying, especially for someone with without an engineering background like me! :)
