With Memorial Day coming up it seems appropriate to get some good march music playing! This free download is of "The President's Own" United States Marine Band from Washington, D.C., playing National Emblem by E. E. Bagley. It's a great march and features a snippet of the National Anthem. You can also hear its memorable theme in the second strain, which is often sung with the lyrics, "Oh the monkey wrapped his tail around the flag pole." Here is a recording of The United States Army Band (Pershing's Own) performing the Russian Sailors' Dance by Reinhold Gliere. It is from Gliere's "The Red Poppy." This piece was used as part of the preliminary round of The U.S. Navy Band's recent euphonium audition. Perhaps it will be part of the next Navy audition, coming up in June. As you walk into the venue you pass a table with various souvenirs as well as a few A.F. folks you can talk to. Lots of pamphlets for those who have questions about the mission of the USAF or are interested in a career. Then as you go in the hall and receive your ...

Sousa's U.S. Marine Band played for that event a few times. During one of his later tours with ...
Courtesy of The United States Navy Band, we have posted a free MP3 download of the Band's recording "The Italian Girl in Algiers" by Gioachino Rossini. There are some great lines in this music for all the low brass players. Enjoy! Italian Girl in Algiers - U.S. Navy Band
